I am a researcher, senior researcher and leading researcher. The principal directions of my professional activitiys included 1) analysis of long-term mammal population series on strictly protected natural areas, 2) studies of various aspects of mammalian biodiversity (cytogenetics, postnatal development, sexual dimorphism, geographic variability, interspecific variability, historical variability, variability of species richness in space and time) from the single population to the taxonomic class level, 3) Development of research methodology and foundations of the theory of morphological diversity (using mammalian skulls as an example), 4) engineering ecology, including environmental monitoring, development of methods for assessing the impact of oil spills on mammalian ecosystems, and 5) palaeobiogeography and evolution of Pleistocene mammalian faunal complexes of Northern Eurasia, including the development of new methodological approaches to the analysis of large arrays of palaeontological data and the construction of descriptive models of faunal evolution.

In 2013, the results of the research on the morphological diversity of mammals were formalised in second dissertation thesis “Invariants and dynamics of morphological diversity (on the example of mammalian skulls)”.

From 1996 to date, he has been involved as principal investigator or manager in 35 scientific and scientific-practical projects.
