Ivo Verheijen

Ivo Verheijen is currently a researcher at the Forschungsmuseum in Schöningen, Germany and PhD student at the University of Tübingen. Trained as an archaeozoologist with a specific interest in the Palaeolithic, his work focusses on reconstructing past environments and the relationships of hominins and animals related to subsistence. By combining different proxies he tries to gain in-depth insights on human-animal interactions, especially between hominins and carnivores in North-western Europe. The main project he has been working on for the past decade is the Lower Palaeolithic site complex of Schöningen.
